NEW LINE UP ADDITION MESA, TRAD.ATTACK!, SATELLITES LV, EDAVĀRDI AND MANY MORE

The best Latvian hip hop on the Palladium stage starting with MESA, Edavārdi and FAKTS, Satellites LV with the new album sounds and hottest Estonian folk export Trad.Attack! on main Lattelecom stage – Positivus festival complements it’s line up with new, relevant and high-quality musical words.

MESA is the new project of renowned Latvian performer Gatis Irbe. First studio album was released in 2016 and featured some of the most famous Latvian artists across nearly three generations. The album achieved Gold status and received the “Golden Microphone” award as the best hip hop record of 2016, while also being shortlisted as the best album of the year. The project’s second studio album is currently in the works.

Edavārdi is the moniker of a Latvian rapper who’s a force to be reckoned with, both as a solo artist and as a member of several prominent rap alliances. Over the course of his 10 year career, Edavārdi has won several prominent freestyle battles and collaborated with local scene heavyweights.

Although most notably known for his producing, mixing and collaborative skills, Latvian musician FAKTS (real name Jānis Šmēdiņš) released his debut studio album Vainīgs Tu in 2017. The album featured a multitude of renowned and up-and-coming guest artists. From energetic contemporary party hip hop, to nostalgic memories of lost love – Fakts covers nearly all ranges of the emotional spectrum. At the festival, he will be accompanied by Triana Park’s drummer Edgars Viļums and DJ Aspirin.

Singapūras Satīns first rocked the Latvian music scene in 2015, when the band released their first mixtape full of refreshingly satirical, sarcastic and ironic lyrics about seemingly taboo topics – complimented by catchy contemporary rap beats. Their records, videos and singles, are acclaimed by both rap aficionados and music critics alike. Each of the 9 members has his unique style and their explosive combination is a guarantee for an unforgettable experience every time Singapūras Satīns take the stage.

Chris Noah (real name Krists Indrišonoks) is a 22 year old Latvian musician, singer and songwriter. The talented artist first gained airplay and popular acclaim in 2015, with his  hit song Had It All. His 2017 single Spark, from his EP What About Tomorrow was included in the Spotify Fresh Finds: Six Strings playlist.

Satellites LV are considered one of Latvia’s electro, britpop and indie rock pioneers. In the second half of the 90’s, the band – then known as The Satellites rose to popular acclaim with several hit singles and won the Grand Prix of Liepajas Dzintars, the then-biggest rock music event in the Baltic States.

TRAD.ATTACK! are three good friends and well known Estonian musicians who have literally turned Estonian folk music on its head. Since their debut in 2014 TRAD.ATTACK! received 14 Music Awards in Estonia, had their 2015 debut full album, Ah! praised internationally, toured 26 countries and sold out solo concert for more than 7000 people in Estonia. Group takes its inspiration from old archive recordings of Estonian traditional songs.
