This year Positivus has put an extra thought into the good times for the small visitors of the festival and has organized an entire territory for kids – Rimi Kids Island. While parents will enjoy the festival, kids together with dwarfs, fairies and Indians will have a chance to indulge in playing games, having sport activities and adventures that develop their intelligence – and this is only a part of the generous program that will keep busy and entertain the festival’s youngest visitors.
At the Rimi Kids Island toddlers and bigger kids will be looked after by professional nannies from private preschool Rezidence Laumiņa, so the parents meanwhile can enjoy the festival. The only officially certified CrossFit Kids trainer in Baltic states Dace Tomsone will take care of sports activities and make morning exercises a fun event that includes crawling, jumping, pulling, climbing and playing – this program is intended for kids from age of 3 up to 18 year olds.
Meanwhile language training center Little More will help to learn foreign language basics to kids of all ages – it well be possible to look into the world of dwarfs, travel to jungle and visit a very unusual house and learn, sing, dance and play simultaneously. The French Institute of Latvia will also create interest about foreign languages by offering creative workshops Let’s Play in French!. The publishing house Liels un Mazs will introduce audience with Latvian kids literature in their reading house.
The musical entertainment and education for the little ones will be provided by Andžeja Grauda Drums School, while it will be possible to learn the basics of ballet dance together with the dancing school Color Point. The experts from the The Nature Conservation Agency will tell everything about nature and its resources.
Games for development, experiments and intelligent competitions will be provided by kids curiosity center ZINOO; the masters of table games Brain Games; the project Kokmaizītes that is devoted for the Latvian culture environment; the producer of eco toys VARIS Toys; as well as Smuklietas – the creator Latvian made constructors and puzzles. The little fashion ladies will have a chance to realize their dreams together with Claudia paper dolls workshop as well as in the workshop for Indian hair ornaments. It will be possible to keep the memories with everything that is created and have a photo session with the ragdoll Lupe from the Latvian TV show Who is here? I am here!.
Dirty Deal Teatro, the creative space 3 Sisters and Liepaja Puppet Theatre will present different kind of performances. Kids tired from the colorful day and various activities will have a chance to gently fall asleep by sleep movies together with Pasaka.net.
One-day entrance ticket to the Rimi Kids Island will cost 7 Euros, three-day ticket – 15 Euros. Since capacity at the Rimi Kids Island is limited, preference will be given for those that have purchased tickets in advance, however the tickets will be available on the festival site as well. Parents have to make sure that the kids have clothing suitable for weather and a hat. Children must be enrolled and picked up at the Rimi Kids Island by the same person, ID will be required.
